During the webinar on “How Copernicus helps Europe’s regions to increase resilience to climate change: user stories about climate, water and energy” organized by the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies (NEREUS), in cooperation with the European Space Agency, examples of the use of Copernicus data by public administrations and their role in delivering benefits to areas, citizens and public policy makers in the context of the European Green Deal were presented.
Mrs Hanna Zdanowska, the Mayor of City of Łódź, presented the benefits of using Copernicus data and products. She mentioned the InCoNaDa project as an example of interesting study focused on Copernicus for citizens. Currently the researcher team from the Technical University of Lodz in collaboration with teams from NIBIO and IGIK is investigating the possibilities of using satellite data and Copernicus products to monitor urban space and suburban areas in the context of land cover, land use and ongoing changes.
