The National Centre for Research and Development as Programme Operator of the Programme ‘Applied Research’ implemented under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA FM) 2014-2021 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism (NMF) 2014-2021 announces a list of forms recommended for funding in the 1st round of the Scheme: Support for Ukrainian Researchers under Bilateral Fund. As a result, seven Ukrainian scientists will be supported. Among them is a scientist from the Ukrainian National Forestry University, Ukraine, who will collaborate with the Polish-Norwegian research team of the InCoNaDa project. As part of the cooperation, it is planned to develop a map of land cover changes and produce a map of forest cover based on satellite data for the study area in Ukraine. Algorithms dedicated to land cover change detection and classification of land cover using EO data were developed by a team of scientists from the Centre for Applied Geomatics at IGIK, in cooperation with scientists from Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO).
